Our story
Podlesie is the highest and most beautifully located village in the Opawskie Mountains. The name Schönwalde, or "Beautiful Forest," was mentioned as early as 1369, and there used to be a gold adit, a paper mill, an ironworks and a school. On the site of the former school, the Aspen Hotel was built in 2013 - 2014, which was transformed into the Aspen Prime Ski & Bike Resort in 2022. The unique natural features attract crowds of Guests who soak up the equally unique atmosphere in these unique natural circumstances.
The school
The area at the junction of the three village borders of Zlate Hory, Glucholazy and Ondrejovice was characterized by gold mining in the Middle Ages. Even before World War II, the village had 180 inhabitants (40 houses), a separate school and 4 restaurants. At the place where we built our resort there was a school, which is still remembered by the residents of our region. We decided to turn the dilapidated ruins into a place where people from all over the country would come to. Hotel Aspen
The Aspen Hotel was established in 2013 and has become a landmark of Podlesie and Glucholazy. We decided to create a place that would turn out gold for our Guests. And so it turned out to be. The opening of the hotel revitalized mountain tourism in the region, and also contributed to increasing employment in Podlesie. The goal was to create a place for relaxation, beautiful celebrations against the backdrop of a fabulous mountain landscape, good entertainment, as well as a starting point for hiking and biking mountain trips. For trail lovers, Biskupia Kopa - the highest peak in the Polish part of the Opawskie Mountains - awaits. At the top, persistent hikers will be rewarded with a beautiful panorama from the 18-meter high stone tower, built in 1898, from which you may be able to spot our hotel.
Aspen Prime
Only 3,5 kilometers separates our facility from the border crossing with the Czech Republic, where perfectly prepared ski slopes, bicycle trails, and mountain trails await the guest, and 20 kilometers from the beautiful lakes: Lake Nysa and Lake Otmuchowskie. For years, the Aspen Hotel operated mainly as a place for meetings and family celebrations. Following the spirit of the times, we decided to make a bold change (also in terms of image). We have opted for comprehensiveness, comfort, and exclusivity not only for families but above all for Guests from all over Poland, who will be able to reach us at any convenient time. We have raised the standard of the hotel and built an outdoor and indoor swimming pools with a jacuzzi. Today we stand at the threshold of new challenges at Aspen Prime Ski & Bike Resort.
